Description


Data Feed is failing to update one or more Cross-Reference fields in the target application.
The below warning is displayed in the Data Feed Run detail:
The number of references selected for <field name> field is greater than the maximum number allowed

Cause


The Data Feed is trying to Append the Cross-Reference field while the field only allows one selection.

Resolution


Follow the steps below to replace/populate the Cross-Reference field with the new value:
1. Open the Data Feed.
2. Go to the Data Map tab.
3. Scroll down until the affected Cross-Reference field appears.
4. On the right side of the page on the same line as the Cross-Reference field, press on the Edit button under Actions (as shown below).

5. In the prompt window, select Replace existing target field values (instead of Append source field values).

6. Then save the Data Feed and run it.

Notes


If you are trying to add multiple Cross-Reference values:
  1. Go to the target application (Administration menu > Application Builder > Applications).
  2. Go to the Designer tab > Layout sub-tab and open the Cross-Reference field Properties.
  3. Under the Configuration section, change the value of Maximum Selections to No Maximum.
