I have 6 questions on a Control Certifications Questionnaire that were part of the past couple of certifications. I need to update a couple of questions for the next certification. However, when I update the questions, it changes the questions on the past certifications. How do I keep the questions as is for the history and only update the questions for the certifications going forward?

@KevinMoore sounds like when questionnaire was created, normal fields were used and not the Questionnaire type fields. Questionnaire type fields won't change for existing questionnaire records if they are changed in the application builder.

Editing existing question fields will change the question for all instances of the field for questionnaires where the field was presented. Here are a few different approaches.
- Create a new questionnaire for each round of certifications you need to do.
- Create new questions and change the filter properties for the old questions to prevent them from being presented on new certifications.

Thanks @DougSwarts clarification. It's the adding/removing questionnaire type fields from a questionnaire will only show for new questionnaire records. For some reason I thought the question text was preserved as well for existing questionnaires.

New fields are only possibly available on new content.
Removing fields will remove from all content.
Field configuration is stored at the field level not at the content level. There is only one instance of field name and question text per field(& language).
