Do I need to create a report to pull all the data from an application using the API?

Just wondering if I need to create a report with all the fields or just report with all the records and that should pull all the meta data required into my data lake?

In the latest version your options for retrieving content are:

Platform (REST) API: one record at a time using the tracking ID

Web Services (SOAP) API: one record at a time using the tracking ID OR

Run a report through the search service's searchRecordsByReport method OR

Execute an ad hoc advanced search through the search service's executeSearch method OR

convert an existing report to a search string and then modify the filter criteria at runtime using the search service's getSearchOptions and executeSearch methods

Content API: retrieve a single content record using the tracking ID OR

use the content API to retrieve all records from an application 1000 per page
